  1. The Oster 6331 is a great toaster . It serves all our needs in one machine. I would recommend it to any one

  2. Soon after I purchased this item, the plastic around the slots began to pucker, so I watched it closely when using it and never left it plugged in when I was out of the kitchen. The last time I used it, I thought I smelled the toast burning and turned around to see nearly a half-inch or more had melted from around the edges of both slots. I was smelling burning plastic (and it took me several hours to clear the smell from the entire house) – if I had not been in the room with it, it appeared to be heading toward catching fire. I do Not recommend this! (and would even advise reconsidering any other toaster made of poly or plastic – stick to chrome)

  3. Bought this toaster at Lowes for under $20, even though it retails for almost $40. It has a “toast,” “bagel” and “frozen” settings (the blue lit buttons that are attractive and not too bright) and a dial operated browning (timer) control setting. Have only used the toast setting and it toasts sliced bread perfectly (evenly browned at timer setting #4) without any problems w/the lever. It also has a “cancel” button which allows termination of the cycle without the need to unplug the toaster or forcing the lever up (which would probably damage it). It also has a “cool” body which eliminates any risk of burnt fingers. It’s excellently designed and does everything a “basic” toaster needs to do for a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

  4. This toaster is the best I have ever owned. It has the a browning level dial, the capacity to handle a piece of toast or muffin, and the ability to raise the toasted above the opening for easy retrieval.

  5. I don’t think anyone makes good, affordable, and reliable toasters anymore. I’ve tried several affordable toasters and toaster-ovens ever since my 20-yr old toaster-oven quit working, but none of them toasted evenly, thoroughly, or consistently. Someone bought this model for the kitchen where I work, and I noticed people using it routinely and not complaining, so I bought one from Amazon. It’s been working better than the others I’ve tried in that it is consistent in regards to temperature settings, but, unfortunately, it is inconsistent in the evenness. That is, when I toast English Muffins, the part of the muffin deepest in the slot gets toasted more quickly then the part nearest the top of the slot’s opening. So I purposely set the temperature to a lower setting and then flip the muffins and toast them a second time so that they are evenly toasted – and the same goes for bread. Bagels however, usually toast evenly on one cycle. I have not tried to toast any frozen items, so I can’t comment about that setting.
